Yes its here at last!! After much demand and at least TWO excited emails (which were actually spam I think) we’ve scoured the universe and found this just for you.

A big red square
It’s red, it’s pointless and no-one in their right mind would want it anywhere near them! SO get one before they run out! Or better yet – buy a whole bunch of them!

This page – and the accompanying content above and random image with it – was set up as a YAK shopping cart test page with a nonsense product and title.
No matter what I changed in the settings I couldnt get this software to work. I just kept getting a website page with all the content on it but no “Buy It Now” button or anything – just a message in text saying “currently out of online stock”. I had set up 3 or 4 pages for this test and all of them were doing the same thing.
I checked and re-checked the setup instructions, which I had followed to the letter. Nothing helped. I tried changing settings for product quantities and/or the general setting for the default quantities for all products. Didn’t help. And the wierdest thing was that when I entered product details in via the products page and updated them the details would have been erased next time I opened the product configuration to edit it.
I tried to get help on the developers site but I couldnt get the “general discussion” page at developers site to load. SO I clicked on “support” and was taken to a sales page telling me I had to pay for help. It would cost me almost $70.00 AUD just to get this one-time answer to what is really a basic non-functionality issue, if I contacted him for support.
Or perhaps I might find the answer in their “Handbook” (perhaps not – who knows) but I would also have to BUY that and hope they had an answer. Already I was feeling like this plugin was uselessly buggy and not what I needed so why would I risk throwing money at it’s “handbook” that might not have the answer anyway and would be a white elephant if I went with another solution?
So basically there was no help at all for this plugin and it wouldn’t work on a most basic level. Can’t say I’m impressed.
So …. moving back to try out wp-ecommerce again, maybe I can work around the bugs in that one instead. At least there’s somewhere to discuss problems on their site.
A bit silly really – but ironically the original title to this post – which was my dummy product – is kind of apt for the subject matter that is now here.
Good luck with your search for a simple paypal plugin or ecommerce solution for WordPress. If I find a good one I’ll post about it here but so far it’s not looking good.e
